Esk Valley Running Club awards

Summer might be over but not for the Esk Valley Running club! I’ve been working on another set of custom order items for the club’s summer awards.

This was for a set of custom medallions featuring an ammonite design with text stamped into the clay. Ammonites can be found on Yorkshire’s Jurassic coast where fossils can be found in rocks on the beach. This design was stamped into the clay to create the look of a fossil trapped inside the rocks.

In addition to these I also created a set of mugs to accompany the medallions. The mugs have a simple conical shape because of the heavy decoration across the surface of the mug. The design wraps around the whole of the mug with text and a flowing wheat design. The wheat curls around the text to create movement across the surface of the mug, its a reminder of fields of wheat in summer bending in the wind.
