The Little Wren Pottery studio is located in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, UK. We have no retail shop, nor do we sell wholesale because we believe that buying directly from us gives you the best price possible.
Established in 2009 Little Wren Pottery is a family business run by Victoria Baker and Chris Baker. We create tableware designed to be loved and used everyday.
How your pot was made
Every pot is handmade from white Devonshire stoneware clay in our studio by us. We specialise in hand throwing on a pottery wheel. Once a piece has been thrown it dries out to a leather hard stage at which point excess clay is turned off and it is decorated by hand.
From here it’s dried out until all the moisture has evaporated and then loaded into a biscuit firing and finally to a glaze firing. We spray all of our pots with food safe glazes and they are fired to 1250°C in the glaze kiln. The process to completing any finished object takes 3-4 weeks.
How to care for stoneware pottery
Stoneware pottery can be cleaned in the dishwasher or hand washed. All the pottery we make is suitable for use in the microwave and oven.
It is not recommended to expose pots directly to naked flames. Take care when stacking pots together as this can increase the risk of damage.
