A ramble around Osmotherley

On the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors nestled in the Hambleton Hills is Osmotherley. A small town that is part of the Cleveland Way walk, its a popular town for cyclists and walkers.

I ventured out there last weekend to take in a walk from Jack Keighley’s book ‘Walks on the North York Moors’ and despite my edition being from 1993 it was still easy to follow the footpaths around. The Osmotherley walk takes in a surprising amount of different Yorkshire landscapes; from shady woodland and purple heather moors to hilly craggy climbs.

Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales

Last weekend the family and I headed out to the Yorkshire Dales, it was a searingly hot day and armed with plenty of sunscreen we were ready to visit the beautiful Aysgarth Falls.

Aysgarth is a series of three waterfalls on the River Ure, tumbling down steps of rock its best to visit just after there has been a lot of rain to see the river in full flow. On the day we visited it had a more gentle feeling to it with the sound of water rushing by and a cool breeze to take the edge of the climbing temperatures.

What happens when you place your order?

Whether you place your order through Etsy, Folksy or via Email there’s a lot of work that goes into creating hand thrown pottery. So what really does happen once that order goes through?

If you place your order on Etsy you’ll get a confirmation email of your purchase, in stock items generally ship next day but made to order pieces have a slightly longer complex process. Once your order comes through as an email notification I’ll add it to my order book and start working on it.

Hello Harrogate

Last week was the Harrogate Knitting and Stitching show, if you met us there I’d just like to say thanks for dropping by! It was lovely to meet so many folks who stopped to chat and buy my work.

It was really interesting to see how many people who’d already heard of Little Wren Pottery and even a few who already had yarn bowls! I love the idea that my pieces start new lives with their owners and develop stories of their own along the way.
