Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales

Last weekend the family and I headed out to the Yorkshire Dales, it was a searingly hot day and armed with plenty of sunscreen we were ready to visit the beautiful Aysgarth Falls.

Aysgarth is a series of three waterfalls on the River Ure, tumbling down steps of rock its best to visit just after there has been a lot of rain to see the river in full flow. Homegrown food festival Northallerton

After what seems like endless rounds of DIY in our new house I’d been looking forward to the Homegrown food festival for a few weeks and had it penciled in as a ‘must do’ for the weekend! After buying more soft fruit than we could ever possibly eat last week I decided to freeze them for eating later.

Cherry and Vanilla Jam recipe

You might remember last year I made some Cherry Jam, I thought this year I might revisit that post and add a little twist to it.

I always love the bounty of berries and soft fruit early summer brings before the summer heat really settles for the next few months. Cherries have to be one of my favourite fruits, they just dangle tantalisingly from branches waiting to be picked.
