Between what’s technically possible and what the customer wants to receive. At Christmas I get a few secret hush hush projects but now that it’s over I can share them with you!

Last postage dates for Christmas 2015

I’ve had quite a few inquiries as to my last postage dates, I am still taking orders for Christmas but below you’ll find detailed information about last ordering dates. I’ve separated these out for orders for in stock items and lead times needed to make made to order items.

Dates may extend, or shorten, depending upon demand in the run up to Christmas. If you have something specific in mind then place your order well before the last dates to guarantee delivery!

Fluted light pulls

Last week I introduced the custom ring bowls to the shop and this week it’s the turn of the fluted light pull!

You can already find regular straight sided light pulls in the shop. All the pulls are glazed in your choice of colour from the chart, they’re ideal for adding an accent colour to your bathroom or go neutral to blend in.

Why are artists inspired by nature?

Not everyone is inspired by nature but when I read interviews with artists and crafts people I realise most of them say they’re inspired by the natural world. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, perhaps if more people were inspired by it that wouldn’t be a bad thing!

I was thinking about just why so many artists are inspired by nature and I think its for a number of reasons, it’s spirit is often full of opposites. It’s wild and free spirited which I think appeals to the language of art. Often it seems nature has no great ‘plan’ to the wilderness that it creates. Yet nature seems to work quietly with a purpose in mind, destroying some things and creating others a force that moves across the Earth seemingly silently.
