This month you’ll find Little Wren Pottery yarn bowls in the knit.wear! It’s an international magazine published quarterly by Interweave Press. You’ll find Little Wren Pottery in the Spring/Summer edition on page 4.
It’s January – somehow the bleakest month of the year now that the parties over, when dark days seem to be endless and spring a world away. To bring a bit of midwinter cheer I’m giving away a ‘wool’ style yarn bowl glazed in smokey blue reflecting those oh so blue January days.
Along with the bowl is a hank of Artesano yarn in 4ply, it’s rich purple colour is listed as Paraguay. It’s lovely and soft to the touch being 100% superfine Alpaca, the hank is 50 grams or 184 metres in length if you want to plan what you’re going to knit with it once you’ve won!
In my last post I mentioned there were three new styles of yarn bowl on their way to the shop. Not to keep you waiting any longer here’s the second and third style!
These two new styles are more like the larger barrel shaped yarn bowls that I make and if you came to see me at The Knitting and Stitching show you make have been quick enough to get yourself one. The ‘wool’ yarn bowl proved to be a popular choice and I’ve decided to keep it around in the collection.
If you’ve been following some of my postings over on Twitter and Facebook you might have noticed that over the last 3 months I’ve been working on some new styles of yarn bowls. This is the first of three new styles and it’s quite different from other yarn bowls currently in stock.
It’s called Little Star and it’s size is much smaller than the standard size I currently make. I received a lot of requests for smaller yarn bowls when I was at The Knitting and Stitching show in Harrogate mainly from sock and lace knitters but this bowl is also ideal for summery cottons too.
So, how are your new years resolutions getting on? Last Friday was apparently the most depressing day of the year, when most of us break those things we’ve resolved to achieve.
There’s still time to turn things around though! if your resolution this year was to try and spend more time crafting then I’ve got a treat in store for you. I’m giving away this hand thrown yarn bowl – unfortunately it is a second but if you’d like to give it a home just complete the survey below.
