Kittec Kilns

I’ve been having trouble with my kilns lately and I’ve actually replaced one of them entirely with a new one. My smallest Rhode Kiln has been swapped in for a shiny new Kittec Kiln. It’s volumetric size is much bigger which will be an advantage coming into the busy winter season!

Reclaiming clay

In making pots theres usually very little wastage and once a piece has been turned, taking off the excess clay, there tends to be a lot of shavings. These shavings collect in the wheel tray and are put into the reclaim bucket where they’re mixed with water to create a slurry.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year 2016!

2015 has been another huge year for Little Wren Pottery and while every year is important it’s fascinating how much of a difference a year makes! I’ve been so busy in the lead up to the Christmas season which really started to ‘snowball’ in mid November leading to the early closure of made to order items.

Small businesses like mine really rely on the support and daily assistance of other people. It’s so easy when your making to get lost in the process and have very little time to stop and take stock.
