Christmas with UK Handmade

Back in September I revealed that I’d be writing a Stollen recipe for UK Handmade. You can now find the winter edition of the magazine live containing my article.

If you’ve never made Stollen before because its too difficult or too intimidating I’d love to hear how you got on if you’ve made it. With Christmas fast approaching it’d make a great last minute home made gift.

Guisborough craft fair

Update! – Unfortunately this weekends craft fair has been canceled due to the weather, sorry!

This coming Saturday you can find me at Guisborough craft fair, held at the town’s community hall from 10am to 4pm. If you’ve never been to Guisborough its a pretty market town on the edge of North Yorkshire.

The town also boasts a priory, which is now just a ruin but also Guisborough Hall a Victorian mansion built in a Jacobean style. Saturday is also market day with many other local producers selling fresh produce in the town so if you live in the area I’d love to meet you!

Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale

Here in the UK ‘Black Friday’ is a pretty new event, its known here as the most depressing day of the year when everyone feels at their lowest. Having not yet started the preparations for christmas and the dark nights continuing to loom in.

In the US Black Friday is typically the first Friday after thanksgiving and has a history of depressing, weird events taking place – just take a look at the wikipedia page.

That means that this coming Friday the 26th is Black Friday, I’ll be taking part in the weekend sale on Etsy.com extending until Cyber Monday on the 29th.

Items that didn’t get sold at this weekends craft fair will be making their way into the sale and new items will be added daily. I’ll be adding 10% to 20% off selected items so be sure to keep an eye on my sale section for some bargains!
