A trip to Japan

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been away from the studio in Japan, this is just a quick update for now. I’m back in the studio, if you’ve placed your order over the last couple of weeks you may experience a slight delay in getting it out to you. Studio break

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be away from the studio until the 28th of March.

Northallerton Archaeological Dig

A few weeks ago in town I’d heard about an archaeological dig happening over at the old Rutson Hospital in town. Some of what they’d dug up was a bit of pottery!

This ceramic dish was discovered on the site both it’s size and level of decoration are quite impressive. Due to the age of the piece it’s likely that its a lead based glaze but the colours were quite surprising. The decoration in the centre has quite a contemporary look about it considering its medieval.

Zumba Northallerton

A few weeks ago Helen who runs Zumba classes in Northallerton was asking for testimonials about her classes and that got me thinking. I’ve been attending Helen’s classes for about a year or two now and she’s a great instructor. Her routines themselves are easy enough for beginners, complex enough for them to remain interesting for the regulars but above all fun!

Helen’s attitude shines through her classes and encouragement is great if you want to push yourself or just make it through the end of a class when your feeling tired. It’s like having your own personal cheerleader and I realise she doesn’t just do it for me but for everyone who attends her class and that’s what so clever about what she does.
