Landscape Magazine

This month you’ll find Little Wren Pottery in Landscape magazine, it’s the November/December issue and it’s full of winter delights for the turning of the season.

Fluted light pulls

Last week I introduced the custom ring bowls to the shop and this week it’s the turn of the fluted light pull!

You can already find regular straight sided light pulls in the shop. All the pulls are glazed in your choice of colour from the chart, they’re ideal for adding an accent colour to your bathroom or go neutral to blend in.

Custom ring bowls

There are a few new made to order items popping into the shop at the moment! One of these is the custom ring bowl, they’re the most heavily customisable item in the shop with so many variations possible.

Each bowl can be customised with an impressed name, date, initials or a combination of the three of these. It really makes it unique to you and can help to commemorate a day special to you – a wedding, anniversary, engagement or even a significant birthday.

Why are artists inspired by nature?

Not everyone is inspired by nature but when I read interviews with artists and crafts people I realise most of them say they’re inspired by the natural world. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, perhaps if more people were inspired by it that wouldn’t be a bad thing!

I was thinking about just why so many artists are inspired by nature and I think its for a number of reasons, it’s spirit is often full of opposites. It’s wild and free spirited which I think appeals to the language of art. Often it seems nature has no great ‘plan’ to the wilderness that it creates. Yet nature seems to work quietly with a purpose in mind, destroying some things and creating others a force that moves across the Earth seemingly silently.
