Knitting magazine and yarn bowls

Lately I was fortunate enough to bag a feature slot in GMC’s ‘Knitting’ magazine in the November issue. Its all about yarn bowls and bells.

I’d like to say hello to all those new people dropping by my site for the first time, its great to have you here.

Currently yarn bowls are proving to be one of my most in demand products, they make great gifts for knitters. Unfortunately I don’t currently have any in stock! If you’re one of the folks wanting to get a hold of one please contact me.

Tivoli red now in stock!

If you’ve been keeping an eye on my shop you might have noticed a new glaze in the collection. Its something you guys asked for in my customer survey and I wanted to formally introduce it to you now that I’ve had some time to play with it.

Tivoli red is a beautiful ruby red glaze. It creates real statement pieces just because its so deeply red! I’m in love with this glaze since its so nice to work with.

Pottery now in red!

I wanted to respond directly to a few of the comments left in my survey and let you have a peek at what I’m currently working on.

I now have a red glaze! Its a beautiful Tivoli Red which gives a deep ruby colour when its thick or fabulous shaded tones when its spread thinner.

So the other evening there were some pots that needed glazing and so we decided to do them together for a change.

hand thrown mugs white glazed ceramic mugs blue pottery mugs

When a pot is biscuit fired in the kiln it means that it becomes heated to 1000 degrees. This removes all the water from the body of the pot making it very porous.
