Making paper rosette fans

I’ve been so busy lately getting ready for Woolfest which is looming fast at the end of June, part of all this prep work is getting pieces together that’ll create an attractive stand.

If you’ve never been to Woolfest before it’s in a cattle market so anything that’ll help to ‘pretty up’ the space is a major bonus!

To make a paper fan I used; a pack of pastel A3 card, a piece of long wooden dowel but you could use a ruler, sharp scissors, a stapler and some string. You can of course use A4 sheets of card to create your fans I just had A3 to hand.

Making up

You might find this a little weird since it’s easily hitting 20 degrees everyday but I’ve been making up my latest jumper. It’s the Cabled Jumper from ‘Glamour Knits’ by Erika Knight, I’ve been knitting it in a lovely forest green shade of Rowan Big Wool.

As you’d expect it’s knit up super quick and while I was sewing this together I was thinking about all the different making up techniques for jumpers. I’ve never been fond of the making up process, I feel I need to learn to love weaving in all those ends!

Milestone Raspberry Wheat Beer

It’s been a few weeks since the last of the beer was drained from the pressure barrel and its about time for a new beer to get started in the tank. This time it’s a fruity wheat beer, I love fruit flavoured beers particularly Kriek – I’m hoping that that’ll be my next kit after this!

How to make a paper seed tray

It’s been a pretty soggy, cold and generally all round miserable April here at Little Wren Pottery HQ. Even so when I walk around the neighbourhood you can see people optimistically stocking up on gardening equipment and compost for that eventual moment the sun breaks through.
