I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately about the ordering process for the named yarn bowls. These are the barrel shaped yarn bowls which have the lettering carved into the front of the piece. The slit for the yarn is formed in the first letter of the name. Every one of these is made individually as the order comes in so it’s made specifically for you.
When your order comes in I will throw a yarn bowl and then carve the name in by hand. I then take it through the biscuit firing and glaze firing process which is why it can take between 3-4 weeks. Generally I advise the longer 4 week time especially at busy times of the year – so Christmas and Mother’s Day. It’s just something to be aware of if your thinking about ordering as a gift, if your wanting it for a specific date I can give you an estimate on when I think it’d be ready if you get in touch.
You don’t need to get in touch with me directly to place your order. The best thing to do is head over to Etsy and place your order by going through the checkout process. Once you’ve paid for it I will make it to order for you. You’ll need to select the options you want from the drop down menu on the right side of the listing and add it to cart. You can add the name you want for the piece in the ‘Note to seller’ area on checkout.
March Meet the Maker
If your on Instagram I’m currently participating in March Meet the Maker challenge. The aim is to post a photo everyday of what my working life is like. If your interested and want to get a ‘behind the scenes’ snapshot take a look! I also posted a secret preview of one of the new styles of yarn bowl coming to the shop in the next couple of weeks.
