I’ve been recently getting emails from people containing similar questions and I thought I’d take a moment just to put the information out there for everyone.
Handmade stoneware pots are just like any other type of ceramics you might buy. They can go in your dishwasher, microwave and oven.
To keep things simple I carry a certain number of glazes on the glaze chart at any one time. I cannot do colour matching or custom colours simply because unfortunately I don’t have the time to invest in glaze development for every request I receive. Glazes themselves are a complex blend of minerals suspended in water which is absorbed onto the surface of the pot during glazing.
Glazes on the chart are either satin or glossy they cannot be both. The labels on the chart give an indication using the colour key about which glazes are glossy and which are satin to help you choose between them.
If you have any questions about the work I make please feel free to get in touch and I’ll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
This past week I also made a short video with a few friends and my Zumba instructor Helen of us dancing to Uptown Funk, somehow I think I’m a much better dancer in my mind that on video! You can find it on Youtube if you want to see what I get up to when I’m not making pots.
