A new pottery kiln in the studio

This week I received my new kiln, this is the third one in the kiln room and its also the largest. It always feels like a big deal to get new equipment and hopefully it’ll mean that I’m prepared for the final quarter of the year when deadlines are tight!

With the installation of the new kiln I’ve also had the electrical sockets altered for more heavy duty usage. This will also allow me to switch over the power between the kilns more easily. I’ll admit I love Rhode equipment it’s just the reliability and quality of both the build and parts, they’re really robust and compact too.

Along with the new kiln I also bought a tonne of clay which might seem like a lot but probably won’t last more than a couple of months. Thanks to Bill of Sedgefield Pottery Supplies who’s always able to accommodate our crazy requests!

Also just a quick note about orders around the Easter bank holiday. If you’ve placed an order for a made to order item unfortunately due to the firing schedule it probably wont be posted until Tuesday next week. Once it has been dispatched you’ll receive an email letting you know it’s on the way but if you have any questions about the status of your order just get in touch.
