Preparing for winter

In the studio I’m busy looking ahead to the final quarter of the year, unfortunately pottery is a slow craft with bespoke items and dinner sets sometimes taking as long as 8 weeks to complete. Planning is key to organising orders through the busy festive season.

With this in mind I thought I’d put out the final delivery dates for Christmas 2013. These are of course subject to change and will probably do so as we head into November, in stock items and made to order pieces are handled differently so before ordering make sure you accurately read listing titles and descriptions.

For purchases of items in stock from either Etsy or Folksy the last dispatching date for the UK will be 20th of December. Urgent orders can be dispatched until the 23rd of December special delivery, this will cost extra in addition to the usual first class postage fee. Orders to Australia have the last dispatch date of December 5th, Europe December 10th and the USA the 13th.

For custom made to order items I’d anticipate that the last ordering date for the UK will be November 30th for single items, for groups of table settings November 2nd. If you have any doubts about how long your order will take please get in touch and I’ll be able to inform you on the status of your order. If you order on Etsy you will be given an estimated dispatch date automatically with your purchase, if I think your order will not be completed in time for Christmas I’ll contact you in advance.

If you want to avoid the postal system you can arrange a pick up directly from the studio or have pieces delivered if you live in the Yorkshire area.

Finally if your planning Christmas already don’t leave your order too late, the closer to the cut off date the more difficult it’ll be to alter and dispatch orders on time. Look out for an update to the estimated cut off point for custom orders in early November!
