An autumnal yarn bowl

I wasn’t going to do another custom item post so soon after the last one but I took these out of the kiln a few days ago and I must admit to maybe liking them just a little too much.

Unfortunately I couldn’t keep these and they’ve been posted off to their new home today! Each bowl was made with a leaf motif created by laying a real leaf over the bowl, I decided that a stylised leaf shape for this would just end up looking like a blob on the side of a pot.

The curl for the yarn is the same as the little star yarn bowls but instead here with the leaf it looks more like the arc of a branch. You can also really see the difference between the natural clay colour and the vanilla glaze that’s been used over the top.

I actually like these so much I was thinking about introducing them as a permanent item in the shop but what do you think?

Also just because I can’t say this often enough – custom item orders are closing on December 1st so don’t leave ordering too late!

Just seen your yarn bowls with the leaf on the side and think they are lovely.
I am looking for something for my sister in law for Christmas and think one of these would be perfect.
Would it be possible to order one in time for Christmas ?
