What’s in your yarn bowl?

I’d been knitting beatnik for what felt like forever and as the pieces came together I was worried that it wouldn’t fit. I’d never knit such a slim fitting jumper before but from the moment I tried it on I loved it.

I knit my version in Rowan’s Superwash Aran in a steel grey, since it’s a free pattern and a lovely knit I’d encourage you to give it a go too!

It’s become my wardrobe staple and I wear it with jeans, skirts, shorts and instead of a jacket. Basically anytime I can get away with wearing a jumper I wear beatnik. I’ve always been a cardigan wearer in the past since I have a large t-shirt collection but I think the sweater is making a comeback in my wardrobe.

I love knitting cables; their twisting shapes emerge as the pattern comes together in those first few mysterious rows. I’ve already got a new project going in my yarn bowl and it’s the cabled jumper from the Glamour Knits book by Erika Knight.

My yarn bowl sits by my bed, its a second with it’s deeply pitted glaze and huge crack down the front it doesn’t really affect its use. On occasion when its accompanied me to craft fairs I’ve had people want to buy it from me even though its not something I’d be comfortable with selling!

I’m curious to know what’s in your yarn bowl? What are you working on at the moment? You can add me as a friend over on Ravelry or email me with a picture of your yarn bowl and latest project for a discount code for the shop!
