The Knit Studio is one of Newcastle’s newest knitting shops based in the historic Blackfriars Priory which was originally constructed in the 13th century. If you’ve never been there you can find it sandwiched between ‘The Gate’ complex and Chinatown.
Anne Makepeace runs the shop and it stocks some unique yarns such as Colinette, Adriafil and Regia. You can also find a large selection of British yarns, its great to see beautiful local yarns in some fabulous colourways.
During November Anne is hosting a special event focusing on locally produced crafts from Tyne, Wear and Northumberland. If you can get yourself along she’ll be showcasing some of my yarn bowls including some new designs that haven’t yet made it into my online stores.
Theres also going to be a variety of workshops going on at The Knit Studio during November including an Intarsia tutorial with Emma King on the 10th. I’ve always wanted to learn more about colour knitting!
