I don’t often win contests but it would seem that August was a great month for it! I was fortunate enough to win these beautiful beads.
Gaea beads is based in sunny California creating porcelain beads that are unique and one of a kind. As well as beads you can also find pendants, earrings, rings and other gifts.
As you’d expect much of the inspiration for the pieces comes from the natural world, but there’s also magic and mystery to be found in Gaea’s shop. Each bead set has its own theme such as the pretty blues and greens of the mermaid bracelet.
I love the touching attention to detail and incredible vibrancy of the beads, the glaze colours look fantastic the way they shimmer. Its a quality of porcelain I’ve always admired – its ability to transform glazes into translucent colours.
Before I leave you for this week I thought it’d be nice to share these photos of my Stollen making for UK Handmade magazine. It turned out better than expected! I’ve tried many recipes but in the end adding my own methods seems to work best.
If your wanting to steal my Stollen making secrets then you’ll have to wait for the winter edition of UK Handmade, I’ll be sure to let you know when its gone live!
